GAINESVILLE, Fla.— According to the Student Housing Council, the Student Housing Industry is booming. As more students attend college, more off-campus housing developments are built. But where is the industry going? On September 29, 2016, at the 14th Annual National Multifamily Housing Council’s Student Housing Conference and Exposition in New Orleans, Louisiana, Nathan S. Collier and four other industry leaders discussed their ideas.
Nathan S. Collier was joined on the panel by David Adelman, President and CEO of Campus Apartments, Donna Preiss, Founder and CEO of The Preiss Company, J. Wesley Rogers, President and CEO of Landmark Properties, and Paul Sorensen, COO of Blue Vista Capital Management. Peter Katz, Executive Director of IPA Student Housing Group was the panel’s moderator. Their session, “Industry Leaders: Business is Great but Where Are We Headed,” was well attended and provided in-depth insight on financing, alternative product types, enrollment trends, potential market opportunities, and what to expect in the years to come.
The National Multifamily Housing Council serves as a forum for leaders in the apartment industry to guide future successes. Each year they hold a Student Housing Conference and Exposition for leaders in the Student Housing Industry to gather and share up-to-date information. This year, over 700 leaders from the industry were in attendance.
