Seasoned Multifamily Housing Developer Enters Sarasota Market with $70 Million Project

 

The Collier Companies brings a new multifamily community to Fruitville Road east of Interstate 75.

One of the largest developers and operators of multifamily apartment homes in Florida has entered the Sarasota market with the cash acquisition of an approximately 14 acre-development site. The Collier Companies, a Gainesville Florida based owner, operator, and developer, acquired the vacant parcel immediately east of the interchange of Fruitville Road and Interstate 75 for $5.4 million.

The Collier Companies plans to build 300 apartment homes to help meet Sarasota’s growing demand. The acquisition will help the company expand its footprint in Florida, where it owns the majority of its multifamily housing inventory of over 11,000 apartments homes in nearly 50 communities. The Collier Companies plans explosive growth and considers Sarasota one of its key markets.

The Collier Companies is one of the most active multifamily developers in Florida. The company recently broke ground on BLVD 2600, a 336-apartment home community in Apopka-Maitland, and also plans to break ground late Fall 2021 on Hawks Mill, a 336-apartment-home community in Port Orange. In addition, the company just completed and opened The Atlantic, a 310-apartment community in Port Orange. The Collier Companies currently has future development sites in Fort Myers and Pompano Beach.
