Ms. Angela N. Tharpe is a TCC boomerang team member with 15 years of tenure and currently serves as the Chief of Staff. In this role, Ms. Tharpe serves as the Owner’s and Chairman’s Representative and Strategic Liaison. Ms. Tharpe has more than 25 years of entrepreneurial, community, economic development, and real estate experience. Prior to returning to TCC, Ms. Tharpe served as the Vice President of Housing and Real Estate Development for Volunteers of America of Illinois (“VOAIL”), overseeing their Elderly, Disabled and Veteran affordable housing property management portfolio between Illinois and Missouri and its newly formed real estate development department. Prior to VOAIL, Ms. Tharpe was the Vice President and Director of Asset Management at TCC. During this period, Ms. Tharpe participated in and/or closed over $850 million in student housing real estate transactions and played a key role in the strategic growth of the company (5200 apartments to 8500 apartments) through partnerships with institutional investors. Ms. Tharpe holds a B.A. in Philosophy from St. Lawrence University, a J.D. and M.U.P from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and an M.S.R.E from the University of Florida – GO GATORS! Ms. Tharpe also has two beautiful daughters and two amazing granddaughters.
